The (ASHTANGA) YOGA ROOM encourages students of all ability levels to attend. Below are descriptions that may help you find a class that is appropriate for you.
INTENSE ASHTANGA
Join Aaron each weekday morning, as he leads you through this modern interpretation of the traditional Ashtanga practice. In each class you will find various, challenging Ashtanga sequences. Breath, bhandas and drisiti rank high in importance as students are encouraged to explore new boundaries under the dynamic and invigorating instruction of the teacher. Daily or regular attendance is highly suggested in order to gain the full benefits of this transformational practice. You will truly find nothing like this practice anywhere else! While all classes are for everyone, this class is geared towards the more experienced practitioner.
ASHTANGA SHORT SERIES
Offering an abbreviated series of the full morning Ashtanga practice - this class will be condensed into one hour, eliminating select series and meditation. While the class duration and amount of postures will be shortened, the full benefits of this traditional practice will not be hindered. Wonderful practice for the most experienced yogi, to someone who has never tried yoga before!
VINYASA
This class offers a dynamic sequence of poses, that creates a flow between the more static traditional yoga postures. Vinyasa translates as the linking of movement to breath. Essentially the breath dictates the movement and the length of time held in the postures. Attention is also placed on the journey between the postures not just the postures themselves. This class is intended to create great internal heat and is often accompanied by energetic music. While all classes are for everyone, This class does tend to be geared towards the more experienced practitioner. The pace is much quicker than all other classes. Be prepared to sweat!
NIGHT OWL VINYASA
All the perks of our Vinyasa classes, but at a later time to accommodate all schedules.
SLOW BURN
Offering a slow invigorating combination of postures, this class is appropriate for the student who has never tried yoga, to the most experienced practitioners. While the pace and clear direction of this class allows the student to learn the practice, the intensity of the poses has the ability to bring everyone to their edge. This class offers a very calming and relaxed environment.
PRIVATE INSTRUCTION
Private and small group instruction is available by appointment - and is ideal for those with specific physical goals or constraints, athletic teams and corporate business employees. (See Contact page to inquire).
